Get up late this morning, it is a bit cloudy and cool. We get on the hop on hop off bus and head to Galeries Lafayette for some shopping - Yeah! We sit up top on the bus and it is quite cool as we move along. It takes about 90 mins to get to our stop, but it was very informative and we picked some good information along the way. The girls go shopping and we hang out at McDonald's. After shopping we get back on the bus and head off to the Eiffel Tower. It takes about 40 mins to get the tickets and start the adventure. While we were waiting the 3rd level had been closed, but as we start off it is reopened. Kaye decides to remain at level 2 while the rest of us head up to level 3. The sky has cleared and it is sunny with great views over Paris. We decide to walk down the stairs from level 2 rather than getting the lift and are rewarded with some great views. We catch the bus back to our hotel but on the way back we book a night cruise on the Seine. We have happy hour back in the rooms and head off for our 9 pm cruise. The cruise is great, but a bit cool on the top deck. Head off for dinner after the cruise. Restaurants are pretty busy and it looks to be an issue finding a table for six, until one of the waiters realises we are a six and he then moves on a couple and makes up a table for us. We meet an irish couple at dinner and have some great laughs. Get back to the hotel around midnight.

The Lafayette Galleries was in an amazing building. Good shopping also.
Hop on Hop off bus a good idea as a lot of the sites are spread out.
Eiffel Tower is an incredible structure.
Another lot of souvenir sellers with drawstrings on the corners of the mats. Plump police gave a half-hearted chase.
Views from the Eiffel Tower give a different perspective on how Paris is laid out. Haussmann wanted the wide avenues to have a ‘monument’ at the end of each which can be seen all the way along the avenue.
Night cruise down the Seine was very cold but seeing all the buildings and bridges lit up in the night was a treat.
